Why is it important for you to teach your children from a biblical perspective? Because the world teaches things differently. You and I teach that the world was spoke into existence by God – yet, our children are taught about the big bang at school. We are surrounded by false teachings.
Jesus’ teachings were totally different from the religious and worldly teachings of His day and ours. He cautioned His disciples to constantly watch for false teachings. He compared those teachings to yeast. A small amount of yeast affects the entire loaf of bread.
Christians today must beware of the yeast of false teachings. You can hear them at the office water cooler, in the school cafeteria, on the radio, and in the movies. They may come from people convinced of what they’re saying, but God’s followers must recognize them as untrue. Great danger is lurking in false religious teachings, beware of yeast!
Matthew 16:12, “Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
