Everyone has limits. Nobody can do everything. Think about it, superman was not able to stand the weakening he experienced from kryptonite. He had to depend on someone else not burdened by the kryptonite to get the poison away from his presence. Yet, when we face certain weaknesses, we often try to deal with it alone. That is not great advice.
Approximately 30 years after the apostle Paul had his life changing encounter with Jesus, he wrote to the believers in Philippi. He was reflecting on his times of need and his times of plenty. His point was that when Christ worked in His life, there was no circumstances beyond his ability. This was not a statement of self-sufficiency or arrogance. It was a lifestyle Paul lived of divine empowerment and dependency.
Jesus put it into sharp focus when He said, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” (Matt. 19:26). Whose strength do you count on? Determine now to live in the possible by living for Jesus!
“12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Phil. 4:12-13
