A young man was speaking to his mother one day and said, “Mom, I’ve decided I’m going to be a preacher so I can help clean up this mess the world is in.”

She came back quickly and responded, “That’s just wonderful dear, now go upstairs and start with your room!”

Let’s be honest. The world is in a mess and things seem to be getting worse. What are we going to do? What is the world going to look like for our children? Jesus makes clear not to be distressed over this world. He even gives us confidence about our future when He stated in John 16:33, “33 I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

I love the fact that Jesus has given us everything we need to trust Him completely. Not because of anything we have accomplished, but because of what He has!
