What a cold and messy few days we experienced last week. While being a guy that loves Spring, Summer, and Fall, I’ll be honest; I’m not a fan of Winter. I do love that God created our world with changing seasons, I just don’t like the mess that we are left with once the snow and/or ice begins melting. And last week, I saw enough snow and ice to last the next several years. I now better understand why birds fly south for the winter. The scientific explanation is  BECAUSE IT’S COLD!

Now, having ranted about my lack of love for winter, I am most thankful about one thing. That our God is an unchanging God who has love that is an unchanging love. Think about it. God is so in love with you and me that He sent His Son to pay our sin debt. That’s WONDERFUL news, because I’ll never have the ability to earn enough to pay that debt. So, while I’m not a fan of fall changing to winter, I am a fan of God being in control and in love with His creation. This week I want to challenge you to bask yourself in the warmth and brilliant light of The God who loves you through His Son Jesus!!

This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5
