Are you ready for Valentines Day? It’s a valid question, don’t you think? After all, it’s about love! And you know what, love is important! The Bible has a lot to say on this subject and tells us in, 1 John 3:18 “My children, our love should not be only words and talk. Our love must be true love. And we should show that love by what we do.” Love must be backed up with action. For instance, God showed His love for us before we were even born. The Bible tells us, “For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son. God gave His Son so that whoever believes in Him may not perish/be lost, but have eternal life” John 3:16. He did this for every one of us, before we were even born. Like God, our words have to match our actions if we really mean them.
| So, how do we show our love for God? The Bible tells us lots of ways we can show God our love, since He has first loved us. When we listen carefully to what the Bible tells us, we learn that we can love God best by loving other people. Can we do that? Can we love other people the way God asks us to? To do that we need to go out in our daily lives and treat people the way we want to be treated. With love!! We know God loves us from the way He treated us from the very beginning. Let’s show God how much we love Him, by loving others. |
