Mission is such a big part of what God has called the church to engage in; why, because God is a missional God! He has been pursuing us through His Son Jesus since the beginning. Thus, we see that mission is at the very heart of our creator! As His creation, we are to be about our Father’s business just as King Jesus was. We become missional by being on purpose for God! That’s what we did this weekend in Jackson, MS. We were missional, we had purpose, which was to share the love of our Creator with His creation.

So, what does mission look like? It isn’t difficult to do; mission is about God’s people loving one another! We accomplished that by loving the many children who came through the doors of the FamilyLifeCenter at AltaWoodsBaptistChurch! We accomplished that by playing with the children and building relationships! We accomplished that by feeding those who were hungry! And, we accomplished mission by praying for the many needs of the lost!

Mission should be a way of life for God’s children. Thus, it isn’t a trip we go on in which we become missional. Mission is the way we, as Christ followers live our lives every day! Are you ready to be on mission on purpose for God? I hope so!

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matt. 28: 19-20
