It is comforting to know that God’s presence is just as real in dark-valley experiences as it is on the mountaintop when things are going well. As true and as wonderful as this statement is, there are still times when His children doubt His presence.
Job however, is one of God’s servants to voice his confidence in the Lord in the midst of suffering and sorrow. He said, “Though He slay (kill) me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15). No matter what the circumstance may be that surrounds us, His promises are unchanging. He promises that He will never leave you, nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
In the darkest of hours, He tells us to trust Him. It is easy to trust Him when everything is going well, but the moment the going gets tough, we tend to fear and find ourselves wavering. God’s word sets us free from the chains of sin and assures us of a home in heaven. Trusting God and His word is the key to life! Will you trust God to comfort you in your dark-valley moments of life?
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4
