What a great Easter Service we had celebrating the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior King Jesus! This morning’s devotion was from 1Peter 5:6 and says, “Humble yourselves, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time…” King Jesus understood humility better than anyone. He, being God in the flesh, stepped down out of the glories of Heaven, born in a barn, had an earthly ministry filled with heartache and pain, and died on an old rugged cross; friends that was true humility.
So as for God exalting Jesus after “He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death on a cross…” Philippians 2:8, God the Father raised God the Son from the dead! That is why Christ followers gather together week after week; it’s so we can worship Him as Lord. As great a day as we experienced this Easter Sunday, let us not forget that we gather together weekly to give God praise as the One and only King of king’s and Lord of lord’s. Hope to see you next week!
“Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…” 1 Peter 1:3
